

Not very exciting, but good to know!
Just focusing a bit on the muscles of the face.. will start on the muscles of the neck soon. A small attempt at drawing water is included here but it was a googled image that I was using as my reference photo. I am going to go for a walk and pick out a little pond near here with some cool stuff to really challenge myself with.. lilly pads, shadows, shallow water and stuff like that. Human figure is definitely a passion of mine but I feel I need to focus a bit more on backgrou


A little more sculpture...
I’ve been working on a small relief sculpture that I hope to get cast. I’m doing it in oil based clay and will take a mold from it when it is done. The idea is to use the sculpture as a signature… almost like a signet ring. I’ll have to do several of them in different sizes and designs – doing proper relief sculpture is tougher than it looks!


The sketchbook and recent work in it..
It was very fun making this book and one day I will “have many leather-bound books”… with sketches from cover to cover. Will my studio smell of rich mahogany? – I’m not sure… Here is the end product of lots and lots of hours cutting, sewing and glueing and pressing. The creation of my shield: Part 2
I have to dig deep for some of the earlier pictures of the shield I made… but here are some pics of the progress after the wood work was done and the leather was stretched. THE FINISHED PIECE!!! I’ll post some pics of the progress before the leather work was done soon. A-HA!!! FOUND SOME!!! Making things..
Last summer I was injured in an accident at work and found myself with a considerable amount of time on my hands… this was seen as a bad thing at the time but it there was some good that came of it. While sitting around trying to recover, I started trying to find projects that would fill my time but wouldn’t aggravate my injury. I formed an addiction while I was recovering – I became addicted to making things.
I started with a few smaller things and one day saw a picture onl
